Dr. Dulce Yolotzin Medina Velazquez holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and is currently a Full-Time Research Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Engineering, and Technology, Autonomous University of Tlaxcala (UATx), Mexico. Since 2018, she has been a Level I member of Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNII), administered by the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI). She has authored and co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles published in indexed international journals. According to Google Scholar, her research has received more than 530 citations and has an h-index of 12. Dr. Medina serves as Principal Investigator of the SECIHTI Basic and Frontier Science Project, Development of Hybrid Materials with Supercapacitive and Optoelectronic Properties. She also participates in the SECIHTI science outreach project, Materials with Superpowers: What Science Fiction Promised Is Already Here, which promotes public engagement with advances in materials science and emerging technologies. Her research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced functional materials for energy storage, environmental remediation, telecommunications, and optoelectronic devices. Her work is aimed at developing innovative materials that contribute to sustainable technological solutions and next-generation functional applications.

Dr. Boris S. Gurevich was born in 1948 in Leningrad, USSR. He graduated Leningrad Electro-Technical Institute in 1972. He also got his PhD degree in physics in mathematics in 1980 in Leningrad Polytechnic Institute , and Dr.Sci. degree in technology in Institute for Analytical instrumentation, Russian Academy of Sciences, in 2006. Also he lectured in St. Petersburg University for Airspace Instrumentation as a professor of Medical radio electronics department, from 2007 to 2019. Now he is a head of laboratory in Institute for Analytical instrumentation, Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia. George Barbastathis received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1993 from the National Technical University of Athens (ΕθνικόΜετσόβιοΠολυτεχνείο) and the MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1994 and 1997, respectively, from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After post-doctoral work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he joined the faculty at MIT in 1999, where he is now the Ralph E. and Eloise F. Cross Professor of Manufacturing and Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He hasheld sabbatical appointments at Harvard Universityand the University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (密西根交大学院),and has been one of the longest-serving Principal Investigators with the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). His research interests are in machine learning and optimization for computational imaging and inverse problems; and in optical physics, including statistical optics, scattering theory, and artificial optical materials and interfaces. He is presently leading the AFOSR MURI “Searching for what’s new: the systematic development of dynamic x-ray microscopy,” whose goal is to combine dynamical principles and machine learning for imaging extreme phenomena with sub-microsecond and sub-nanometer dynamics. He is member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) and the American Mathematical Society (AMS), a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA), which was recently rebranded as Optica, and a Fellow of the Society for Photo Instrumentation Engineering (SPIE). Hehas servedas Associate Editor for the Journal of the Optical Society of America A and the journalOptica, as a committee member, chair and co-chair of numerous conferences, and in several co-founding and consulting capacities for incumbent and start-up companies, as well as law firms. I won in 2021 a Ph.D at the S.B.A.I Department of Sapienza University of Rome presenting a theoretical research project aimed to elaborate non reciprocal wavelike anisotropic heat diffusion models on rotating conductors exposed to chopped laser beams. I develop during the first two years a preliminary model of heat transfer control conduction based on the prediction of helical spin polarized thermal fields with a rotational Doppler frequency shift effect , presenting it in 2022 as a poster at the 21th International Conference of photonics and photo thermal phenomena in Bled , Slovenia and then in 2023 as a talk at the 67 Course on Photonics and photothermal phenomena in Erice. In 2025 I defended cum laude my Ph.D thesis discussing a an extension of the previous models elaborated focusing on formulation of a new dynamic chiral approach to thermoelectricity effects on out of equilibrium rotating conductors.I have worked as fellow researcher at the S.B.A.I. Department from January 2025 to December 2025 as winner of PNRR European research project.

Yuri Pusep has been an Associate Professor and Head of Semiconductor Laboratory at University of São Paulo, Institute of Physics of São Carlos since 2001. After completing his PhD at the Novosibirsk Institute of Semiconductors in 1985, he was a postdoc fellow in Prof. M. Cardona group at the Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart. Yuri Pusep’s current research interest is focused on the single–electron and collective properties of semiconductor nanostructures, which are studied using electron transport and optical spectroscopy techniques. In particular, it includes magneto-transport, micro-photoluminescence and micro-Raman scattering on the micrometer scale, and time-resolved measurements. Dr. Henrique Patriota Alves is Brazilian, received his B.Sc. in Physics (2014) and his M.Sc. (2016) and Ph.D. (2020) in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Brazilian National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) between 2021 and 2022. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) and a collaborating professor in the Postgraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at UFPE. Prof. Tatiana E. Itina is one of the world’s leading experts in the field of laser-matter interactions and, particularly, in numerical modeling of laser ablation for numerous applications ranging from surface micro- and nanostructuring to nanoparticle synthesis, thin-film deposition, material analysis, laser-assisted plasmonic and magneto-plasmonic nanostructure formation, etc. She currently holds a CNRS research director position at the Hubert Curien Laboratory, CNRS/University Jean Monnet/University of Lyon (Saint Etienne, France), where she is also an experienced team leader. Before this, she worked at the Pennsylvania State University (USA) and at LP3 Laboratory in Marseille (France). Professor Howell received his BS in Physics (1995) with a minor in Mathematics from Utah State University, and his MS and PhD in Physics (2000) from Pennsylvania State University. He then took a postdoctoral research position at the Centre for Quantum Computation at the University of Oxford. Professor Howell joined the University of Rochester in 2002 as Assistant Professor of Physics, and promoted to Associate Professor in 2007 and Professor in 2011. Howell received a Research Innovation Award from the Research Corporation in 2004, a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2005, and the Adolph Lomb Medal from the Optical Society of America in 2006 "For innovative contributions in quantum optics, particularly aspects of quantum cloning, violations of Bell's inequalities and maximal photonic entanglement." He was the director for the Center for Coherence and Quantum Optics from 2013 to 2017. He was an appointed VP to the International Commission for Optics by Optics (ICO) and is now serving as President of the ICO. He joined the faculty of the Racah Institute at the Hebrew University in 2017 as a full professor, but as of 2022 moved to Physics at Chapman University in the Institute for Quantum Science.

She holds undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in Physics from the São Carlos Institute of Physics - University of São Paulo (USP), specializing in optical and photonic techniques. Since 2001, she has been a researcher at Embrapa Instrumentation, São Carlos/SP, where she is currently the Deputy Head of Technology Transfer, which includes an agenda for innovation and business with private companies. Her research area at Embrapa is optics and photonics applied to agriculture and the environment, and since 2003 she has led the CNPq research group "Optics applied to agriculture and the environment". In 2021, under her coordination, the first National Agro-photonics Laboratory (Lanaf) was approved, supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, within the SISFOTON initiative. She works on the development of methods, sensors, and equipment for the analysis of soils, plants, fertilizers, and food. In this area, he highlights his groundbreaking work, worldwide, in the development of an automated method and equipment using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for the quantification of carbon, nutrients, and contaminants in soil, as well as the development of portable systems for the early diagnosis of plant diseases in the field. The know-how developed on the applications of LIBS for soil analysis led to a spin-off from Lanaf, Agrorobótica. In partnership with Agrorobótica, following an open innovation model, he developed the AgLIBS system, which was licensed to the company in 2018. The Lanaf students and post-doctoral researchers who worked on the project were absorbed by the company, which today has 30 employees and works with soil analysis for all regions of Brazil. The company collects royalties for Embrapa Instrumentação and continues with new projects in partnership. During his research activities, he established several international collaborations with institutions in Europe and the USA. She has around 697 published works, 143 of which are in indexed international journals with over 6,500 citations. In her role as Head of Technology Transfer, she was instrumental in increasing the portfolio of open innovation projects and/or projects in partnership with private companies; in four years, the number of these types of projects increased from 25 to over 65 at Embrapa Instrumentation. Her work supporting the development of startups, in conjunction with investors and Venture Capital firms, is also noteworthy. Currently, four of Embrapa Instrumentation's partner spin-offs and startups have already been accelerated and are strongly active in the agribusiness market. In 2023, she received the Yvone Mascarenhas award from the São Carlos City Hall for her scientific work, and in 2024 she received a Women's Excellence in Photonics and Entrepreneurship award (3rd Workshop in Photonics) for her inspiring contribution to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of photonics.Recognition for serving as a motivating example for women in science and technology. In 2024, she was invited by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation to be part of the Photonics Advisory Committee (CCFoto).

Dr. Raj K. Vinnakota serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics and directs the Center for Materials and Manufacturing Sciences (CMMS) at Troy University. César A. T. Laia is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon (FCT-NOVA), Portugal. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, in 1994 and obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the same institution in 1999. In 1993, he received a scholarship for young undergraduate researchers at Instituto Superior Técnico. From 2000 to 2005, he carried out postdoctoral research at the Centre for Structural Chemistry at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, and the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London. In 2006, he joined REQUIMTE at NOVA University Lisbon as an Assistant Researcher. His scientific contributions include 62 ISI-indexed publications, of which 23 were published in the last five years and 24 list him as the corresponding author. He has also contributed one book chapter, holds three patents, including one international patent, has one additional patent application submitted, and has authored ten conference proceedings and other publications. His research activities include participation in several national and European research projects. He serves as the local principal investigator at FCT-NOVA for DecoChrom, a Horizon 2020 NMBP-05-2017 project with a total budget exceeding €6 million. He is also the principal investigator of a nationally funded project supported by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and a team member of the European RISE Training Network project INFUSION and another national FCT-funded project. In addition to his research activities, he has extensive experience in academic supervision, having supervised 14 completed master's theses, with two ongoing, and three completed PhD theses, with five currently in progress. She was among the first in China to realize novel flexible display films such as large-area light-changing color-changing films, dynamically magnified security films, and color 3D display films; explored the fabrication of flexible terahertz devices based on polyimide films; developed a series of wide-band, wide-angle, high-absorption devices for large-area ultrathin solar cells, thermophotovoltaic solar cells, and stealth applications; achieved high-transmittance, large-format pixelated variable-period nanostructure color displays, freeing the observation of pixelated variable-period nanocolor patterns from reliance on microscopes; and proposed a spatial and phase-modulated Fourier transform optical system, realizing dynamic manipulation of multi-interference light fields and enabling large-area rapid fabrication of micro-nano optical devices. More than 50 papers have been published on related research findings, which have been selected as front cover articles by journals such as Appl. Opt. and Adv. Optical Mater. The research findings have been reported by SPIE NEWSROOM and the "Liangjiang Science and Technology Review" WeChat official account. More than 30 invention patents have been granted, including more than 10 invention patents as the first inventor (3 US invention patents and 2 Korean invention patents). As a core member, he won the first prize of Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2018 and the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019. In addition, he guided students to win the gold medal in the 2022 China International "Internet+" National Competition.

Biography

Ivan Iorsh is a Professor at ITMO University, Saint Petersburg. His research spans theoretical nanophotonics, quantum optics, and condensed matter physics, with a particular focus on exciton–polaritons, nonlinear optical phenomena, and van der Waals materials. His current work explores how strong light–matter interactions can enable new approaches to optical information processing, photonic computing, and quantum technologies.
